Here is some basic oversize escort information.... you may wish to print this.

This information is in no way complete.... but it's good to know anyway.

Alaska	A 4 wheeled vehicle must carry 2 spares
Alabama	Escorts must register their insurance with Alabama being the state certificate holder. (If not subject to fines and revocation of permits)
Arizona	Escorts are required to carry a complete first aid kit
Arkansas	Escorts must register their insurance with Arkansas being the state certificate holder. (If not subject to fines and revocation of permits)

California	Lights must be covered or removed when not escorting. California Oversize Load publication must be carried with you at all times. Trucks are not allowed in the "hammer" lane.
Colorado	Certification required to work in this state.Virginia certification is honored. If no VA cert they will send you to safety council school for $200.
Connecticut	Must have a Red vest. Oversize loads can only be moved on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Trucks are not allowed in the "hammer" lane
Delaware	Loads in excess of 120' long require 24 hr State Police notification.

Florida	You need the Florida Certification Course.
Georgia	Need Light Permit sticker, Send money order only, to: Department of Public Safety, Permit Section, P.O. Box 101072, Atlanta, GA 30316, phone 414-624-7433 Trucks are not allowed in the "hammer" lane.
Illinois	Farm equipment does not require a permit, but escorts may still be required.
Indiana	Escorts must register their insurance with Indiana being the state certificate holder. Superloads require State Police Escorts.

Iowa	The Iowa General Provision Sheet must be stapled to your permit.
Kansas	You must have a defensive driving course and a copy of Traveling Through Kansas.
Kentucky	For curfew purposes, on I-65, the 123 mile-marker is the end of Bullett County.
Louisiana	Escorts must register their insurance with Louisiana being the state certificate holder. Escort must physically register yearly and you can register at any scalehouse in LA . fee $10.00

Maine	The escort must have a copy of Chapter 157, Rule 29-250 in vehicle. Trucks are not allowed in the "hammer" lane.
Massachusetts	Oversize loads can only be moved on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Trucks are not allowed in the "hammer" lane.
Michigan	Trucks are not allowed in the "hammer" lane.
Mississippi	Escorts must register their insurance with Mississippi being the state certificate holder

Missouri	Your provision sheet must be stapled to your permit. Check curfew hours first.
Nevada	You must have a Red vest. Must possess a $2. light certificate. send Money Order only to: Department of Transportation, 1263 South Stewart Street, Carson City, NV 89712 phone 775-888-7410
New Jersey	Trucks are not allowed in the "hammer" lane. The DOT does not permit oversize loads. Be Safe and Good Luck!
New Mexico	Annual inspection of vehicle is required to update certificate and must be updated when you renew your insurance.

New York	Escort must have vest with a certification emblem sewn on it. must have cell phone. There is a $40. fee to take the certification test. no police scanners can be hooked up.
North Carolina	Legislation is pending regarding certification of escorts.
North Dakota	If not registered with this State must purchase a temporary trip certificate.
Ohio	Your provision sheet must be stapled to your permit. Superloads are police escorted and may require a bridge person depending on the weight of the load.

Oregon	Must have top mounted Over Size Load Sign.
Pennsylvania	Legislation is pending regarding certification of escorts. check your insurance coverage to run in PA
South Carolina	Trucks are not allowed in the "hammer" lane.
Tennessee	Escort Vehicle is not permitted on the scale with the truck.

Texas	The Escorts of Texas have created two uniform companies - United Escorts Co-operative 940-726-5046 or Texas co-operative 210-822-7501 to register your company.
Utah	Certification required to work in this state.VA certification covers Colorado, Utah and Florida certification. If you don't have VA certification they will send you to safety council school for $200. Red Flags ( No Orange Flags)
Vermont	No Oversize Saturday or Sunday travel
Virginia	Certification required to work in this state. Over 13' wide, two escorts required. No police scanners.

Washington	Certification required to work in this state.
West Virginia	Curfew in Charleston, West VA, can request weekend permit.
Wisconsin	Must have 18" red flags.
Wyoming	Trucks are not allowed in the "hammer" lane.
